To get lost in private, colourful worlds of ideas is the best way to spend time for newly retired artist Kathleen Costello. Inspired by the natural world and the human experience in the broadest sense, Kathleen’s artistic style ranges from realist to abstract. Through her work, she hopes to bring about deeper appreciation for the world around us, the worlds within us, and the invisible connections that bind us together.
While the past three decades of Kathleen’s career were in elementary and special education, her artistic training has included a year in the University of Guelph’s Fine Art program, as well as courses with the Ottawa School of Art, Dundas Valley School of Art, New York School of Art, and Bruno Capalongo Fine Art. Most recently, she is studying with Nicholas Wilton via his Creative Visionary Program. Kathleen paints currently in acrylic, but has also used oils, encaustics and mixed media.
She resides in Dundas, Ontario, Canada.
